Kanu Kurse

Canoe, Kayak & SUP

The SOA offers Canoe Guide exams in the categories Kayak, Canadian and Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) in accordance with the SOA guidelines and Swiss law. Canoeing is the generic term for kayak, canoe and SUP.

The examination
The canoe guide exam is available in three levels (lake, up to WW III and from WW III) and can be taken in one, several or all three categories (SUP, kayak, Canadian).

If the participants meet the admission requirements, they may take the exam in one or more categories and in one of the three levels:
Canoe Guide Lake (still water) in SUP, Kayak or Canadian
Canoe Guide I (to WW III) in SUP, Kayak or Canadian
Canoe Guide II (from WW III) in kayak and Canadian (at present the canoe Guide II exam on the SUP is not possible)

The Guidelines
The guidelines developed by the SOA define the requirements for admission to the examination, its implementation and the canoeing activities that may be carried out by guides trained by the SOA.

Preparation courses for these exams are offered by our partners in their training centres. At the moment these are the following companies:
