Canadian canoe, kayak and SUP
The SOA offers Canoe Guide exams in the categories kayak, Canadian canoe and stand-up paddle (SUP). According to the SOA guidelines and Swiss legislation, canoe is the umbrella term for kayak, Canadian canoe and SUP.
Exam
The Canoe Guide exam is offered at three levels (lake, up to WW III and from WW III) and can be taken in one, several or all three categories (SUP, kayak, Canadian canoe).
If participants meet the admission requirements, they may take the exam in one or more categories and at one of the three levels:
- Canoe Guide Lake (still water) in SUP, kayak or Canadian canoe
- Canoe Guide I (up to WW III) in SUP, kayak or Canadian canoe
- Canoe Guide II (from WW III) in kayak and Canadian canoe
Guidelines
The SOA's Guidelines define the requirements for admission to the exam, how it is run and the canoe activities that guides trained by the SOA may carry out.
